METALmorphosis: The Art of Transformation

 

 

METALmorphosis: The Art of Transformation is a national, open-call show highlighting the amazing qualities of metal in all its forms—a sheet of silver, an ingot of gold, steel wire, or any other type of metal. Through a variety of processes and repetition, there is a transformative experience that requires attention from the artist, unique to the field of metals.

In partnership with the Colorado Metalsmithing Association (CoMA), The Art Students League of Denver (ASLD) invites all artists working in metals to participate. The entry fee of $40 will apply to all artists submitting work who are not current members of CoMA. Active members of CoMA may submit work to this show at a discounted price using the access code provided to you by CoMA. If you are not a current member of CoMA we encourage you to become a member HERE. Please submit no more than 3 pieces for jurying. You may enter a set as one item if they are being sold as a set, not individually. For example, you may enter a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet as your three entries or you may enter earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet together as one entry to be sold as a set. Sculptural work and wearable work will be considered if they are made of 60% metal.

Pricing & Commissions
Artwork submitted for this exhibition must be available for purchase. ASLD retains a 40% commission on sales. At this time there is no size restriction, but submissions are subject to available space.

Application Requirements

Submission Guidelines

• Each artist must complete the CAFÉ Open Call Entry and Label form online or in person at the Registration office at the time of drop-off.

• Please attach one photo of each piece (maximum of 3) with your online submission form.

• Work must be ready-to-hang or install.

• Pedestals will be provided. Any additional equipment needed for display must be provided by the artist.

• Submissions that do not meet the theme and/or submission guidelines of the exhibit will be excluded at the discretion of the juror and/or exhibition curator.

CoMA Members will get a $10 discount code via email.
