Aspiring Metalsmith Scholarship Application 2019

With the support of donations from members, CoMA is able to offer a limited number of scholarships to the conference every year. Thank you to those generous members!

2019 Aspiring Metalsmith Scholarships

In keeping with CoMA's mission, we want to support and foster the professional, educational, and artistic growth of all metalsmiths! The intention of the following definition is to include aspiring metalsmiths of all ages and following a diversity of paths to metalsmithing. Applicants should have the goal of developing a metalsmithing career. If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact Stacey Booth, president@coloradometalsmiths.org. 

 

Aspiring Metalsmith is defined as follows:

 

- graduated from a full-time or part-time educational program (college, university, technical college, community college, non-traditional school) and/or any other degree, certificate or non-certificate granting program within the last 3 years.

OR

- enrolled full-time or part-time (2 or more classes) in any educational program (college, university, technical college, community college, non-traditional school) and/or any other degree, certificate or non-certificate granting program. 

OR

- having less than 3 years of professional experience as a metalsmith.

Application Deadline - 6PM, Monday, May 6th, 2019.

Aspiring Metalsmith Scholarship recipients will be selected by the current CoMA Board and notified by Monday, May 20th, 2019. (leaving plenty of time to still take advantage of Early Bird Registration if you're not selected!)

  • Meet the above definition of Aspiring Metalsmith with the goal of growing your metalsmithing career.

  • Not a past recipient of a CoMA Scholarship

  • Current CoMA Member

  • Artist Statement

  • Website (optional)

  • A 2-4 paragraph personal statement on your artistic goals, experience, current work, and why you'd like to attend the CoMA Conference.

  • Images of work completed in the last 3 years. Maximum of 10 images showing a minimum of 5 different works. (Do not submit images on this page. Submit your images on the Image Submission page - HERE.)
